Joe Walsh of The Eagles recently visited Otatara Pa in Waiohiki, New Zealand. This is the place he had an epiphany in the 80's and made the effort to get sober.

Joe Walsh was the greatest inspiration that allowed me to sober up after 37 years 🙏🏻God keeping me alive to connect with Joes influence was obviously saved my life❤️

"... alcohol and drugs will convince you that you can't do anything without it" - I love that part

Sober now 31 years, my son is sober twenty years, and my ex wife is sober ten years. We all went out to a restaurant and watched a basketball ball game (go hogs) and had dinner. We laughed ourselves silly and gave a great time. Life is good; pass it on.
Btw, when my wife and I were in college Hotel California was number one. Great seeing Joe made it!

Joe proves that you can rock out and be sober. It’s been two years for me and I’m more happy and grateful every day. People think they’re losing something getting straight- no, no, you gaining your soul and life back. It is glorious. If you are thinking of doing it- do it. As Joe says, there is help. Reach out it is there,

Heavens! If you are not moved by this speech then there is something really wrong with you.

Thank goodness that Joe turned it around.

So sad that so many casualties in the same line of business who did not make it.

Great Haka!!

Joe on a stage being honest yet again, he always gives everything when he has a crowd. His humility here brought me close to tears having struggled with addiction myself..such a beautiful man..he's known as a party animal, the epitomy of rock n' roll excess and he lived it, but he survived like so many haven't and he's sincere about his sobriety and others too...joe is so inspirational to me..thank you joe walsh...

I have come to so admire Joe Walsh for his heart of compassion for those struggling with addiction and for the veterans with PTSD. Joe uses his success and experience to help so many. God bless you Joe!

I love Joe. Not only does his music inspire me but he inspires me as a person. Because he's a good person inside. He had some demons and he got beyond them when so many others didn't. He was screaming toward a train wreck and he managed to get himself slowed down. Good on him. And he's passing that knowledge on.

Total humility. Such power and empathy in Joes words. I'm sober and clean 2 decades now as is he and def back up his words about life being better (not easier but better) without alcohol and drugs. God bless him and all of us too!

What an inspiration - there is usually no going back from where Joe was. And the damage occurred is very real. Joe would struggle daily. But he defied the odds and proved life can be good regardless and love, family, giving and heart is what it's all about. What courage. What humility. What a love for life which he took back. Very special. Bless him

Wow...he spoke from the heart and with so much truth in his words. He described what addiction does perfectly. This has been the best thing I've seen and heard today. Thanks Joe!
