Is Sonic Prime Worth Your Time?

Sonic Prime Season 1 released this week -- the newest Netflix series for Sonic the Hedgehog with him racing into action to save the multiverse. Is it worth a watch? Short answer is Yes but I have a few things I'd like to see in the future!

I kinda like the running joke of every time Sonic recaps what he's been up to to someone it just shows clips of him getting hurt as if that's what he's putting emphasis on when telling it.

I think one of the reasons why Sonic gets knocked around so much in Prime is because he refuses to fight/hurt his shatter verse friends so they just end up tossing him around a lot because of it lol

Haven't finished the series. Not even close. Two episodes in, and I also have There's Something About Amy to watch this weekend, too.
Really love it so far, though. My favorite part, outside of how it rejuvenates the characters we knew and loved from the Adventure era, like Frontiers (which I have not played or bought as of yet), is the design and backstory they gave Nine. Ever heard of Where Was My Hero? It's pretty much that, but much tamer.

Wow I'm usually not into cgi animation but it looks very impressive, great character designs. I might give it a watch

Now I want a tie-in game to the show, that's kind of like a sequel to Mania in a sense. Every zone is a new dimension like in the show, & all the zones have a different egg-man / villain to face off against (For example, the jungle dimension he enters could have Amy & the pink flicky as the final boss of the zone.)

Honestly, I love Nine and Rusty rose a lot, especially as a concept. There probably the closest thing we will get to cyberpunk sonic lol

I love it. Watched it all yesterday. I have discovered through the wiki that the 24 total episodes will be split in 3 seasons. I have to assume more is to come next year

Personally, I loved this show, Nine, the concept, Nine and despite one or two errors, the animation is gorgeous, the character designs *amazing*.

It’s incredibly interesting how the whole thing was set up, the themes of valuing what we have, the symbolism of the palm tree, etc etc. What bothered me personally was the pacing, because while I understand that the episodes were set for sonic to develop a new appreciation for his each of his friends, I feel like the points they were trying to get too were waffled around and it could’ve been done a lot more efficiently.

I see that in some cases they are trying to showcase sonic’s amnesia, but with the exposition we already have as the audience the dramatic irony we’re supposed to be experiencing becomes incredibly irritating. If you were hoping for a storyline that wrapped itself up well, watching 8 episodes just to end on a conclusion that we could’ve reached in 4 while getting emotionally invested in these characters (like NINE) and wanting to see more just is disappointing.

That said, this show in part was made to divert from its source material in a sense just to explore sonic’s world and his relationships in a series of what-ifs that has some pretty interstitial content to offer. I just wish it didn’t feel like ‘sonic against the shatter-verse’ ‘aah’. I do hope we get to see more of shadow in the next season, though. The stage has been set for these two rivals to work together, and this dynamic could be interesting. It’s this exploration into sonic’s character and relationships to me that make this show ‘worth’ it.

Also, not sure if I said this already, BUT NINE. IF ANYTHING WATCH THE FIRST FEW EPISODES. NINE. NINE IS WORTH IT.

I was SO close to walking out on this show when Sonic said "Yup, I just yawned you". I cringed so hard. I'm glad I stuck it out, looking forward to seeing what happens next.

I'd say Sonic's more "scatterbrained" and "confused" than dumb this go-round. Dude was in Green Hill minutes ago and woke up in Robotro-_New Yolk_ City right after. Then the same exact thing happened with barely any warning. You could also make the claim that his various concussions are beginning to affect him-

Sonic X has a good story!? Bro, even from the bits and pieces I seen here and there, could tell it's like a j.j. abrams movie where the priority isn't on story telling just filling up a balloon til it pops!
