My Dad used to always say: “If the NFL can have instant replay, why not WWE? That would clear up all those unconscious ref shenanigans.”

Then there's the hilarious logic behind backstage fights. A heel will beat up a face for 3 minutes straight and no one will show up but if a face attacks a heel suddenly WWE security, referees, WWE officials, and half the roster will show up in seconds to pull the face off the heel

I used to produce a wrestling show for a local TV station and one of the things they asked me in the first meeting was if we could have a microphone in the ring to hear what the wrestlers were saying to each other. They didn't realise that the wrestlers weren't just "talking smack". Also, knowing wrestlers, a lot of it probably wouldn't be broadcastable.

In almost two decades of watching pro wrestling -- mostly WWF/WWE-- I've long since decided to treat it like cartoons:
Watch;
and don't ask any questions (especially in regards to the supernatural characters).

What makes no sense to me in wrestling is how nobody has ever come up with a counter to (say it with me and Simon) The Most Devastating Move In Professional Wrestling, The Surprise Roll-Up.

The frog splash. Almost every time it is used in a match, other than the finish, the wrestler who is using the move gets injured by the contact just as much as the preson receiving it and they both roll around on the mat in "pain."

My friend has his own kayfabe reason why Shawn Michael's Sweet Chin Music is much more deadly than any other wrestler's super kick. Compared to guys like Young Bucks or luchadors, Shawn would put all of his weight to his leg, would know what right part of his opponent's to hit, and deliver with the right force to make his super kick aka Sweet Chin Music much more damaging to most wrestlers besides main event/legend leveled guys.

What about when wrestlers stop people getting eliminated from Battle Royals or Royal rumbles

Vince McMahon still running WWE makes no sense.

Irish whip then failed backdrop attempt. Too common. I questioned how legit that was when I was 10.

I'm surprised that no one is talking about HOT I mean, the person literally smacks the opponent like they got superstrength and the very next second they are struggling to even stand up and they just crawl to their

I’d argue that by doing taunts, the wrestler is proving just how in control of the match they are that they can actually take the time to do their taunt and STILL hit their move instead of just hitting their move. Actually makes more sense when you think about it. Of course there are instances where they do take too long doing their taunt, and the next time they have their opponent in the same predicament, they either rush the taunt or hit the move immediately to avoid being countered again.

The ladder one is a little simple to answer they are tired and fatigued from the match in turn going slow up the ladder

My #1 is the dropkick. Why does it only hurt the wrestler when they miss the move but never when they connect? Is it because they hit the ground? Then by that logic every wrestler should sell it lol

Well you could argue that the rock taking off the elbow pad makes the impact of the move harder because the elbow pad provides cushioning

Being distracted by theme music actually makes sense as it signals a potential threat. Playing your theme music, forfeiting the element of surprise, when you’re the attacker is what makes no sense.

About the “why don’t wrestlers steal finishers”. They do. It’s a common heel trope to steal your opponents finisher as a show of disrespect to their opponent and to the sport in general kayfabe wise. If modern wrestlers all used the same move, not only would it kill possible heel heat by having the occasional finisher steal in a big rivalry, it would kill the move’s heat like what happened with superkicks. Just imagine how piledrivers were in the Attitude Era. Devastating move but rendered a mid match spot by its overuse.
