Hi lovely friends. Have you ever made any of these little "mistakes" that may have ruined your outfit that day? Lots of love to you all. Deirdre. XX

Great tips. I think you are so right in saying our generation are more caring in how we look after our clothes and like them to look clean, ironed and polished. One of my daughters doesn't know what an iron is!!!! Drives me insane lol

I have 4 cats. The rubber dishwashing gloves work great, get them damp first to really pick up the fur. It's how I clean my couches.

Haha, I liked especially the tip recommending cutting off things like belt loops, strings for the hangers....
I always have done that.
Thanks for the entertaining video, Deirdre.

I agree with all your points. Regarding the fading colour (especially in Jeans), I buy textile colour and re-dye them in the washing machine. I even dyed a silk dress that had a spot on it. Now, it looks perfect again. On the same note, I buy leather dye to touch up scuffed places on my shoes and handbags; that certainly extends their lifetime.

I always wear skin toned underwear under lighter coloured clothes especially under white. Wearing black under black or navy clothes works well too. Loved this video. Very informative .

With regard to bra straps showing I totally agree. But also why do some women insist on wearing black or highly coloured bras under light coloured clothing. Just looks so messy. Much easier just to have black ( or dark coloured) and nude colour bras and preferably smooth so that your clothes fit and fall nicely.

Hi, enjoy your videos... Here is a suggestion for wearing sheer or white garments and avoiding underwear showing. Always wear flesh or beige colors. Even under white, as white will show thru... Take care, Mary

I have some difficulties with socks, because I always wear them (except in the summer) because I am always cold, but they don't look nice with some shoes. Can you make a video about this topic?

I work at a higher end boutique. We recommend only washing jeans every 3rd time. Cold water inside out.

I tend to machine dye clothes that have discoloured. Or cut them up and use them for crafting. Old jeans make great handbags 👍

Yes enjoy your style tips. Wet hands for fluff on black cloths works as well🌺

Excellent point about context making all the difference in whether a look works or not!
I'd also add that often the dryer does more damage to clothes than the washing machine, so if you do need to wash something, air-dry it instead (and, of course, anything knit should be dried flat). That's made a big difference for my jeans.

Hi Deirdre!! Great tips! I especially like keeping whites white or replacing them. Nothing looks worse than a grey tee or shirt and even worse - underarm stains! Have a great week!!

Velvet hangers are great for most tops and dresses and I use skirt hangers for skirts and trousers (hung, folded at the center crease, by the hems). I iron all my woven linens and cottons well, but then don’t worry about the wear-creases. (I steam other fabrics, generally). It’s easier to keep whites white, with oxygen bleach and/or bluing, than to restore dingy ones. I wash and dry clean my clothes a lot less frequently than I used to, they just don’t need it, my Grandma taught me, and my Mom, that.

There is a dryer sheet that helps clothes repel fur and fuzzies. Works great! I like to wear a chemise under sheer tops.

For white tees and such that aren't so white anymore I'd suggest either OxiClean (oxygen bleach) or use Borax (20 Mule Team Borax) the old school laundry additive.

Thank you Deirdre. So true all your points. Oh! So so true re belt loops.
