Jeremy Corbyn to be readmitted to Labour Party after suspension

Jeremy Corbyn will be readmitted to Labour, less than three weeks after being suspended for rejecting a watchdog’s damning verdict on the party’s antisemitism scandal under his leadership.

A five-strong panel made up of members of the National Executive Committee decided to restore the whip – plunging Keir Starmer into a fresh crisis over the controversy that dogged Labour for so long.

The reversal comes after the former party leader released a conciliatory statement, saying concerns over antisemitism within Labour are “neither exaggerated nor overstated”.

Say what like about Jeremy Corbyn but he is one of the few politicians in this day and age who sticks to his beliefs irrespective of what they are and what others think of them. A rare breed indeed but also his undoing sadly.

He didn't say that the scale of anti-semetism was drastically overstated, regarding the report. He said that the way the media and other politicians had used the narrative, dramatically overstated the scale of anti-semetism in the party. He also said that he agreed with the findings of the EHRC report and their recommendations.
