Martha Stewart Teaches You How to Make Salad Dressing | Martha’s Cooking School S1E7 'Dressings”

Homemade salad dressings far outshine any store-bought varieties, and Martha will show you how easy it is to make your own. She starts the lesson with a delicious shallot vinaigrette prepared two ways: whisked directly in the bottom of a salad bowl and shaken in a small jar. She also makes a creamy blue cheese dressing — just the thing for drizzling onto a wedge of iceberg lettuce. And did you know that you can make your own mayonnaise, too? Follow Martha’s step-by-step instructions, then use it to prepare the most delectable BLT.

I don’t care if there are 1, 000 other cooking shows, Martha still is and always will be the best. It’s always about the food, not herself. So professional and knowledgeable. We love you, Martha!

Today, instead of my olive oil, balsamic vinegar and lemon juice vinaigrette, I added in a little Dijon mustard and diced shallot. The tang from the Dijon was tasty. Highly recommend.

Thank you Martha. I've learned simple lessons that I never thought of before; such as the reason oil is poured in slowly into the infusion is that, if poured in all at once, there won't be an infusion. Also, I'll be ordering saffron from the saffron capital of the world, Iran (by way of Australia and Parsa Global Imports) and you showed me how to use it and get the best results for it. You're the best cooking show hostess today, a wonderful heir to the late Julia Child.

Love the singing sandwiches! Lol! :D There's nothing better than a homemade salad dressing. Once you try it, you'll never go back to bottled/store bought dressing. :)

@Martha Stewart
saffron is the main ingredient in Persian cooking which you forgot to mention in the list of countries using saffron in their dishes.
