This Is Valorant’s Future

Riot has officially announced the new season of competitive VALORANT and they aren’t messing around with the VCT.

We’ve been talking for months now about the huge changes that are gonna shape the future of Valorant – and now we finally have some details.

Let’s talk about it.

It's not fair to compare to league NA actually has had international success in this game

Would like more frequent international tournaments. Seems like masters and Champions are pretty close together. That means we won't see international for most of the year which sucks

Huh, there are relegations for the Challenger Teams that did advance into the international leagues.
Only the partnered/franchised teams will have a definitive spot in the league and thats the perfect balance.
Not sure why NA has a hard time understanding this system.

4:10 sadly this is not the case as evidenced by doublelifts interview with top league of legends COE's from 3 regions. A lot of these teams aren't contributing to growing their own brand and the league itself and are more focused on not losing money more than trying to make a profitable business.

Riot is making the league, that's why this is not franchise and is called partnership

Think there should be 2 slots in VCT for teams from the assension tournament. And the end of the year thos two teams in the VCT play against the the top from assension tournament. Losers out. So you still get some relegation and new talent and new teams in the VCT but the majority has the franchise model

don't know how good it is to compare the franchising to league as similar as it is, especially when teams are finally selling their spot here and there

don't know about how much BDS cares about their LEC spot to go 10th place in 2 splits, not impressing anyone and getting no fans, even though they just bought the spot, granted at a good discount
and not when a lot of rumors of teams like DIG trying to sell their spot off knowing there is more incentive in selling the spot at this point in time than just staying there and sticking w/ it

granted there's viewcount diff etc. but i just wouldn't make the comparison, if u watch even a bit of LCS it really looks like the bottom teams aren't looking to win

i didn't understand any League system, franchising, etc
i guess only way (for me) to understand all of it is to watch how the tournaments go by
I'm more of an entertainment loving person more than system loving

3:49 I can see Sentinels doing this if they get a spot. They are already doing it actually.
After they became popular they don't care anymore about winning and just focused on streaming.
Their last LCQ games were acceptable but I think it was just because they have shroud at that time.
I think they were afraid of shroud talking sh*t about the team if they didn't do any practice and tried to win.

Correct me if im wrong but with this new format, the worldwide tournaments are only 2? the masters and champions ?. i really think that is too low, maybe have a 3rd party tournaments like ESL, Blast, PGL etc for a worldwide tournaments would be better

I really really think they should keep the kick-off tournament for the beginning of every season. It's just such a good concept.

Also I definitely agree with needing more information on whats gonna happen with T2/T3 going forward cause it's very vague currently. Riot have already back-peddal'd on their "we'll let the scene grow organically" approach they said at the start of the game's competitive lifetime. I guess it's a wait and see
