I love how potato GLaDOS is practically forcing herself to talk to you, notable by the fact that here, she doesn't even want to maintain eye contact with you. In fact, it seems she'd rather maintain eye contact with anything other than you.

I love how Portal 2 is still really popular, I remember playing it through like 5 times as a kid and this segment of the game, where you're exploring the old aperture facilities, has to be my favourite

The one thing I always wondered. How did PotatOS survive the fall. With Chell her leg braces managed to cushion the impact of the ground but I assume the velocity of her still had her pass out when she made touchdown. Meanwhile PotatOS should have became mashed potatoes. Also strange that a Potato has a less falling velocity than a human.

The expressions on this are wonderful! The scorn when mocking the player, the concern when noting the speed at which they are falling, how pleased she is with her slow clap processor... all fairly subtle but very well done!

I’ll be honest, since I was about 10-11 when I played this game the year it came out. I had already seen my dad mess with wiring before and heard the popping that comes from faulty wiring. I wasn’t fantastic at processing dialogue and I definitely couldn’t hear a lot of what Glados was saying through her grainy potato speaker. I literally thought that while we were falling, she was doing something internally to fuck with her wiring. It was only recently after rewatching some stuff on this game that I actually realized it was just her making a slow clap sound.

I like how she raises her hands when talking about her "slow clap processor". The hands are for sarcastic clapping, and should serve no other purpose.
