Out of all the songs on Trilogy... This song is the song that defined his style. Dark tone, dark lyrics, and you feel the darkness. This is what people loved. I still get the same feeling on this track driving in daylight today as I did listening to it 7 years ago rolling down the street after bar hopping at night.

I love how he contrasts the first part of the song and the second part of the song together.

The first part being about his drugs and how he isnt scared to be sober and face reality, why most people get faded: to avoid or escape reality. But hes also using the "fall" as juxtaposition for a drugs high wearing off and a real life situation, losing it all and that he isnt scared to start all over again, since hes been literally started from nothing(Being homeless). Also note how he isnt using high notes in the first part.

The second part alot of people just think hes just harmonizes XO, and nothing more. But in fact its literally the opposite of the first part of his song. Him just singing XO meanings he needs drugs....He needs them to stay high, he doesnt want to stay on "ground", he wants to be in the sky. Kinda the opposite of what he said in the beginning, being about how he isnt scared of the fall, but the second part hes literally saying XO only to show he just wants to stay high. Like what a addict would say "I am not an addict", but when you ask them to not do it for a couple of days, they cant resist. Aside from that, XO is also his group name, but also 2 drugs(As we all know). He wants his group to be "up there"(high notes). He wants himself to be up there so he can make his mom proud(thats why he mentions his momma in the first part). He doesnt want to lose his fame(Note:at this point in his life, he went from being homeless to someone relatively famous). He obviously doesnt want to be homeless again. The whole part of him singing XO is its his best time, when he is "high" in both ways, drugs and life.

Also a fun note: he is losing his high, and XO is keeping his high. Thats why the first part is relatively lower pitched then his second part. Its the same effect he used on Initiation, low pitch:drugs wearing off. High pitch:Him getting high/reaching a peak(climax). Basically he was losing his high, so he took some X and Os and got high, thats why hes singing XO. I mean its a freestyle, so he probably was losing his high, and wanted to get high lol.
