What he's saying is that AI is a tool created and trained by human. AI is not the silverbullet to fix all of our problems, and a tool needs to rely on the people who use the tool.

I would probably favor Gates or Musks take on this subject over Warren or Charlies. I prefer their judgement on most things in general though.

AlphaFold is already advancing cancer research. We have a Cure for Blood cancer. And we are very close to finding a protein that is only made or consumed by cancer cells that is fairly useless for the rest of the body. Once we find that we'll make a targeted medicine that reduces or blocks that consumption of such protein for a while yes there will be some renal issues because unused protein has to go somewhere (out of the body) but at least it's not going to feed the tumor that is killing you.

Well, the future will show whether he was right or not. In my opinion, AI will be capable of curing cancer. I’m not sure exactly in what form it will be, whether it will just be selecting treatment individually for a patient, or he will be controlling some kind of machine that will perform the surgery, or something else, but I see no reason why this shouldn’t happen.

If AI found a cancer cure (possible) it would be squashed by the medical establishment, because cancer treatments are expensive (I.e. profitable.!)

AI all by itself may not be currently capable of solving cancer, but alongside humans there's a good chance we can develop the cure for all types of cancers, the future is an uncertain thing, but what is certain is AI's impressive pattern seeing which can help find the cure to cancer.
