Bosch 800 Series Refrigerators | B36CT80SNS Review

The Bosch 800 Series is one of the newest refrigerators on the market. It has some great new features and a few problems you should know about before you buy.

In this video, you will learn about all the best features of the B36CT80SNS & B36CT81SNS, its reliability, and then a brief comparison against GE, Samsung, and the new Beko on the market. In the end, you will know whether the Bosch is right for you.

First this refrigerator is offered two styles: the B36CT80SNS and B36CT81SNS. The 81 has Pro handles and is a nice compliment to a Pro range if you are remodeling your kitchen. Otherwise, it is the same refrigerator with a $300 added cost with the Pro handles.

Bosch’s best feature is their 2 compressors. Sub-Zero made two compressor refrigerators popular years ago. Basically, two compressors keep air in separate chambers to eliminate crossover of taste, odor, and temperature from the warmer refrigerator to the colder freezer.

The reliability is slightly better than average at 20% service in the first year versus 25% for the industry.

Refrigerators have the highest repair rates due to icemakers. At 25% in the first year, you will probably need service within a couple of years. So, know who will be fixing your refrigerator before you buy. Not when you actually need service.

Bosch has more than any other brand and is significantly quieter. It's a newer product so reliability should improve even more So it is worthy of consideration along with the Samsung, GE and Beko depending on the final prices and promotions as well as product availability.

When comparing counter depth refrigerators in store I noticed that the Bosch doors rub the cabinet when opening the doors all the way. It is due to the placement of the top hinge. It is placed in a way that causes more of the door to hang out when opening. Other counter depths like GE and Kitchen Aid do not have that problem. I am not sure if it was corrected, meaning it may have been an older model being displayed. Some of the stores list the product number and don't specify whether it is an 800 or 500. I did go to several appliance stores (Best Buy, Brandsmart, Lowes and Home Depot) it was an issue at all. I found it disappointing because it seems to have better mechanical components. I am leaning towards the GE for this reason

great overview. Have to disagree on the quiet part, the compressors make an intrusive ringing sound while running, and because it has two compressors very often at least one is running. Called bosch factory service out and they said the noise is normal. One friend I know returned his and the new unit made the same noise.

This is where we are today with appliances comparing anticipated first year repair percentages. What has happened to the refrigerator businesses where in the past, a refrigerator could last 25 years or more. .
And you know what, Top of The Line manufacturers are no longer exempt.

My brand new 36 opens left door when i open right door, the seal bar drags on left door, Fridge is level and doors aligned, any ides, turns out they only sell them in my area, no warranty tech available

I have the Beko / Bloomberg French door counterdepth, and it is pretty noisy despite having an inverter type compressor. Paying the extra money for a quieter fridge is money well spent.

Great video! Thank you for sharing. Is the company still working on the standard depth 800 series refrigerator? Thank you!

Bosch dishwashers are next to impossible to get today. I spoke to one dealership who said they’ve been on backorder for over 6 months.

Is the pull-up drawer dedicated to Deli and cheese? Do you know what temperature the drawer is set to and if there is any humidity control? I believe this drawer should have a low humidity setting. With regards to the four-door unit. How is it possible to keep both vegetables in one bin and fruits in the other when vegetables require a high humidity environment and fruits a humidity environment?

Any thoughts on the Lowe’s 100 series or the Home Depot 300 series? Same model.

Please make a video comparing this bosch fridge vs the kitchenaid offerings.

What is with the water inside the fridge?!? I get that it looks nicer on the outside, but it seems so annoying to open the door every time you want water...

Edit: You're amazing for doing these comparisons!

Bosh B36CT80SNS looks almost exactly the same as Thermador freestanding T36FT820NS with different material in the back on the inside. Which one would you recommend? Do they really have the same functions?

Why does Bosch B36CD50SNS/02 stop making ice. This is second time in two years.

Does Thermador 36" freestanding fridge also have two compressors?
