They are bothered that people will find a way to adapt. That’s what happens when they get too greedy. Just look up local storage places. They are full. More people are rooming together or moving back with parents.

People can't afford apartments. I can see in my neighborhood lots of folks moving in with relatives. More cars, young people.. Hey, suppose that works when so many people bought houses way bigger than they really needed. McMansions finally having some value.

Nothing is affordable out there and he is worrying about his REITs in his retirement portfolio. Greedy landlords keep upping rent. Of course, income vs rent is higher because higher income earners are renting cheaper rental units.

What does it mean that apartment demand is falling? Where do they go? People still have to live somewhere.

Apartment demand is going down but the homeless population is going up. Many low cost hotels are seeing an increase in customers.

Was just talking to a long time tenant at my complex who is going to start renting a room in someone’s house. Neighbor two doors down also has an eviction notice this morning.

Rents are going up as people are trading down to increase savings during the recession. Nobody surveys the incomes of the newly homeless.

multi generational homes are the norm in many other nations, the USA is a exception...which won't last for long.
