There's actually a lore reason for this. In Helldivers 1, whenever the Helldivers, *ahem*, "tactically retreated" from a "Former Super Earth" getting overrun, they would simply move survivors to a new planet, and recolonize it as Super Earth. The original Earth is long since dead. The Helldivers 2 Super Earth is like the fourth or fifth one.

Former Helldiver, current Democracy Officer here. Super Earth has two moons because we, as a species wanted to pull Ceres closer for mining operations
(Ever wonder how we got the materials to make so many Super Destroyers, Eagles, Pelicans, and 500kg bombs?), and that second sun above Mars? it's just an orbital disco ball they put up a long time ago to combat low morale.


And on a side note for all you still-maturing citizens of our great democracy out there.
The "Old Earth" dissidents refer to *IS* Super Earth, the true moral center of the galaxy that cannot be replicated in any way shape or form.
If anyone says "Old Earth" is long "dead" or "gone" is both a lie and active fearmongering, and should be reported to your nearest Democracy Officer.

In the first game if we the community lost, Super earth was destroyed. In HD2 we never lost the first war and it’s still just earth, Devs even stated it was same old earth.

Its theorized Super Earth is called Super Earth and not Earth because they left the old war torn earth and literally just terraformed a new planet

Tbf, you can tell in the game that the planet placements and skyboxes in general are reused a lot on every planet. What I assume here is that they just didn't make a unique sky and just used something random. After all, there is no reason to be on Super Earth, except the evacuation from Meridia...

But on the other hand, I've never in this game seen this moon combo, and from my research it is only on Super Earth... I am confused

I mean to be fair, even if it didn’t explode, with how far this is in the future, old, crummy, non-super Earth would probably got exhausted of all its resources. This most would likely force humanity to flee to the stars and find new suitable planets anyways.

I've got a stinking feeling that super earth is literally a super version of normal earth as in a bigger planet. We have found many "super earths" in our galaxy. And since we are missing many planets thats in our solar system that we cant find on the galaxy map indicates this also. We must of lost original earth at some point and decided to move.
