Bucking the typical inflationary price increases we've seen impacting a lot of tech lately, Peplink today announced an "earth shattering price drop" on its MAX BR1 Pro 5G router.

From today forward - the price of this 5G router is dropping from $1,499 to $999. And the 4G model is dropping from $1,199 to $849.

We've had the MAX BR1 Pro 5G in our testing collection since October 2021, and have been very impressed by it.

A new lower price makes the BR1 Pro 5G even more worthy of consideration for anyone looking for a very capable single-modem cellular router with 5G capabilities.

We're moving to Baja soon -- and van lifing it -- do you think this would be a good solution? Also - will this work for Starlink if we go that route down the line? Thanks!

Cell modems/routers are still very relevant, and in many cases still a great, perhaps the best, choice for mobile RV, etc. But I wonder how many of these companies are reevaluating their pricing structures with Starlink for RV now available.

I am trying to activate my newly purchased Pepwave BR1 5G pro. Verizon just told me that I must have a "business" account with them in order to activate it. Is this true?

Ok I need help 😂
We are hitting the road 05Nov and I’ve been tasked with figuring out the internet. I’m so confused. We have the money to get a router but I am uncertain if we need a router. My husband has a LLC so we are getting the TMobile plan for $85 with 100GB hotspot. Do we need a router to use this on multiple devices? If no, would a router even be beneficial? Help!!

For Pepwave routers that support an additional usb modem (I know the BR2 does, not sure about the BR1) I am assuming that the limitations of the X55 chipset can be rendered somewhat moot by adding a new USB modem - assuming Peplink makes one.

anyone have a good site that gives details on towers with 5g? cellmapper, attennasearch aren't showing a Verizon location I know of that has existed for years, for example.

Gaaah. I'm a bit nicked about this price drop ... I purchased this router earlier this year ( End of March ) based on the recommendations of a very well known vendor (with a YouTube channel.). If the drop wasn't so severe I wouldn't be so ( TBH ) angry about it.😠
