I've heard that as far as choosing a hand saw goes, you pick the one that has the best handle. You're going to be sharpening the blade later on, so the cutting power of that doesn't matter when you're testing it against others. You want something that's comfortable in your hand.

I'm just going to put it out there that the expensive option is actually a cheap option and that a good handsaw can easily cost 10x as much. You did pick two comparable saws to test though.

to be honest, those saws are difficult for a weakling like me. back when i had woodshop, it would take me almost 2 days to saw a piece of wood so most of my assignments were a tiny bit late but i got the hang of it before christmas break
