Batman Forever + Batman & Robin 4K Blu-Ray Review

In tonights video I finish up the Batman set with reviewing Batman Forever and Batman & Robin on 4K UHD Blu-Ray. After giving Batman and Batman Returns a spin and being very impressed I was pumped to give these a watch on the format to see how they hold up. In this video I go over the picture quality, the HDR, the Dolby Atmos, and if it's worth the double dip!

Batman Forever is my favorite of these four older Batman movies!

I used to hate Forever for the longest time but I rewatched it a few weeks ago during the theatrical re-release and I ended up really really liking it, I think it gets a worse rep than it deserves because of B&R. I’m still bummed WB didn’t assemble the proper director’s cut of it for the 4K release. Schumacher originally made a much more darker and psychologically introspective film which all got cut out of the final film and you have to rely on fan cuts if you want to see it. Batman & Robin is bad but I still love it, it’s pure camp and very entertaining.

I love Batman forever. I remember my dad getting me this on VHS with another movie as a surprise. I absolutely loved it. I just got the 4K version and watched it last night. It’s very high quality. You can every little pore in peoples faces on close up shots. Also I didn’t realize Jim Carrey’s riddler suit was some type of fleece material. You could not see that at all on vhs. So many little things that look so good on 4K. Loved it. My brother loves the first 2 while 3 is my favorite. I even had the bat mobile from 3. 4 on the other hand sucked. I hated it when I was kid too. Not to mention we had a choice between seeing Batman and robin vs MIB and everyone else wanted to see MIB in theaters but me and I whined till we saw Batman. Nobody forgave me for that lol.

I think only the shining has a thinner line of grain comparing old movies

Thanks Andrew but even if these were the greatest reference quality transfers I wouldn't be tempted. My idea of movie hell is watching B&R on a loop for all eternity!

These definitely are not Oscar material, but are nostalgic for me. They were the cats pajamas back in the day and paved the way for all the marvel movies today. Although I think all those Marvel ones are pretty cheesy also. I just can’t get into them. I bought the first two, but going to wait and get the SteelBook set for these two. Thanks for the review.
