What does inflation mean for interest rates?

There is no correlation between underlying inflation rates and the price gouging we experience for food insurance and energy. Brazen profiteering and record corporate profits!

Raising interest rate does little to inflation as there are millions of families mortgage and debt free and with lots of cash to spend. Weirdly the best way to control inflation is increasing taxes on goods and therefore stopping people spending more, fight inflation with more inflation sounds crazy but works on the long term

Interest rates don't fix the supply side inflation. Clearly there's a massive shortfall in labour. Rising wages? What about profiteering?
