Using an iPod Touch in 2024... GONE WRONG!

Earlier this week, I had the urge to play around with an old iPod Touch... so I ordered a couple renewed ones from Amazon! Now I bought 5th gen iPods, which were released in 2012, but that's not what I got...

I just got reunited with my 5th gen iPod. I booted it up and was surprised to see vine and flappy bird still installed. While vine itself does not work, I was able to get some videos that i sent to friends to work.

I owned two iPod Touches throughout my childhood. First was an iPod Touch 6th Gen that I had from 2017 until 2018, then an iPod Touch 7th Gen, until I sold it (why did I do that?!). I really miss my iPod Touch!

I. don’t care what anyone says I love love LOVE my iPod touch 7th gen it’s pink and it’s cute and actually pretty useful for me and I love it more than any other device I’ve ever had I was so disappointed in myself when I dropped it and the screen got cracked a bit* just a bit but I treat it like it’s priceless because it is to me and as minimal as the crack is I’m planning on getting that screen fixed soon.

I bought a sh*t ton of these for where i worked back around 2019 because they had a use case for them and also got one for myself. Stuck it in a drawer and forgot about it, but i recently unearthed it and fired it up. Still basically brand new, looks and runs great. I'll probably try using it just for the fun and novelty of it.

I still have a 4th gen iPod touch that's in pretty decent condition, the back is obviously scratched to hell but the screen is perfect. the battery is def in dire need of replacing though.

I have a couple of the OG Touches and a 5th and 6th gen Touch as well . The 5th gen is slower than even the 6, 5th had an A5 CPU and the 6th had an A8 CPU and the 7th had an A10 CPU . I ended up replacing the battery in my 6, but it really didn't give it too much extra juice . They just drain quickly when using wi-fi and apps, they had around a 1000mAh battery .

I don’t miss using an iPod Touch. It was a pain. I had the iPod Touch 6G. My iPhone 15 Pro Max is so much nicer!

I have two 5th gen ipod touch, one of them doesn’t have a camera. I thought that model was interesting so i really wanted to get one. I’d say it’s the one I love more because it feels like a real ipod and not a miniature iphone lol.

the 5th gen and 7th gen were the exact same except for processor changes (5 was A5, 6 was A8, and 7 was A10), a camera change (5MP from iPhone 4 on touch 5 to 8MP from iPhone 6 on touch 6 & 7), more storage (16, 32, 64GB on 5, 16, 32, 64, 128 on 6, and 32, 128, 256 on 7), lastly updated Wi-Fi and Bluetooh (802.11a/b/g/n + Bluetooth 4.0 on 5, and 802.11a/b/g/n/ac + Bluetooth 4.1 on 6 + 7). besides those under the hood changes, the rest is the exact same!

I have a iPod touch 4th gen with the 32 pin charger along with a 5th gen. The 5th gen is somewhat usable most apps don’t really work but FaceTime and iMessages still works along with Apple Music. I use it to play music still in 2024

Watching this on an SE 2016 (secondary phone), and while a tiny bit less powerful, it has something an iPod never had - Touch ID and a SIM tray, this is the 32GB model so same as the base iPod too
