Hi Emma, thanks for the great lesson! I would like to share with you a story about my first real job. After lots of interview attempts, I eventually have got a job offer from one company specialized in advertisement targeting. I didn't have special education and background for this job so I was being thrown in the deep end since the very first day. My husband asked me at home how was my first day. I answered him that it wasn't smooth sailing. I was cooped up in the open space with all team and it looked like a madhouse. My husband said, "Hang in there! Now it's a new norm for you." It took me a while to get my head around the new work system and tools and keep up with others. There were many hit and miss days, but at the end of the day, I got the hang of my working tasks.

In the beginning, when I took a Japanese class, I felt I was thrown into the deep end. It took a while for me to get the hang of it. After two years, I've gotten my head around it now. I am glad that my confidence did not take a hit. But it hasn't been smooth sailing yet.
