XR18 Virtual Sound Check

This video goes through the setup and process of doing a virtual sound check with the Behringer XR18 (would work with XR16 and XR12) and the XAir Edit software and a DAW. I happen to use Waveform in this video because that is the DAW that came with my Mackie mixer and I happen to like it, but I think almost any DAW will work. I talk through setting up your XR18 digital mixer for recording and then playing back through the USB audio interface from your DAW and how to use that to do a sound check and adjust your levels and settings. I also talk about a few of the techniques I use in playback from the DAW and adjusting things like EQ, compression, and gate in the XR18 through the XAir Edit software.

Guys, xr16 does not have the option of performing a virtual soundcheck. There’s only stereo recording, no USB interface option.

Hi Lenny, thank you for the video. Just one clarification. You say that when you use USB sends (in the analog mode) you send to the DAW the signal with EQ, FX, Comp etc. Is that correct or even when USB is inserted you send the raw signal? tks
