4x2 vs. 4x4 Ute Comparison

The rough and tough ute image may have been forged in the Aussie bush, the urban grind and on work sites everywhere. But you don’t have to sacrifice comfort and features to take advantage of what a modern ute has to offer.

Why do they call it a 4x2 when it is just a 2 wheel drive? They have to call it just a rear wheel drive.

Yea, if you're not gonna be hitting tracks or really doing any form of real off roading. Unless you can get the 4x4 for the same price. Don't stress. Just get the 2. Especially if you're looking at a Ute. And you prefer the look style and features. Don't not get it because it doesn't have 4x4

4X4 is not only for better off-roading, it shows its worth in cold locations. If you don't want to get stuck twice a week during winters in Alaska or North Dakota, you might want to consider shelling some dough on 4X4 or AWD.

Nissan does the US market SO dirty. This is a good reason of exactly why I got a Toyota. I was an out spoken loyal Nissan customer for almost 3 decades.

The concern is driving in winter conditions. the 4x2 is not a good option in snowy and ice covered roads.

I came from the car and race car world, and I have to admit I have no idea WTF is 4x2. I get 4x4 and AWD, and fulltime vs on demand. The automakers must think we are stupid. Can I buy a 2x2 truck? Is 4x1 a premium option? A top hit searching 4x2 = 8. 😩 Doing a bit of soul searching I infer 4x2 is a 2x4 lumber standing on the side.
