In Germany we call somebody like you an "Ehrenmann". Roughly translates to "man of honor".
Thanks, this free semi college degree is what I need !

I am from Africa and our universities teach stuff that is decades old. Completely outdated. I am very grateful. Please add more courses if you get an opportunity. Thank you so much.

oh my god! Thank you!
I just restarted coding (after I had "some intrest" in school and learnd some java)
I started learing python with some free tutorials, but I thought:
"Hmm...where can I get well bundeled information, besides the university?"
Well - here you come my hero...I'm gonna praise you for that :)

Job Application: Do you have a degree in computer science?
Me: Umm... well uh... it's complicated.

"The reason this is called the open source computer science degree, is because all the classes are open source."

Mind = blown

My intro to CS vote goes to Harvard CS50 on EdX. That course was taught supremely well.

Thank you for the knowledge, Forrest. I'm in my mid 40's and starting a second career after retiring from law enforcement. I just started my first job as a front end developer and this is going to help a lot in progressing in my new career.

So I lost my college admission today because we couldn’t afford the registration fees (payable today). Through this I can still at least get the knowledge now. You have no idea how much I appreciate this man!

I second you. I'm graduating soon and throughout my undergrad I almost took all of the mentioned courses as the knowledge provided by instructor weren't enough. I really regret getting enrolled into institution because more or less I graduated (about to be) with the help of material available over Internet.
Thanks man!

Other than open-source, I learnt a lot on tech Platforms like Coursera and Udemy - typically, these cost under a $100 per course - but the info I gathered was invaluable compared to CS level courses at traditional universities. I applaud you for creating this content. I think the masses are starting to realize that colleges are becoming overpriced for the value that they can provide, IMHO.

This is a fantastic concept! I am totally into this! I love CS, but I think this could go a lot bigger! What if there were these sort of degree programs for a TON of other paths (ie mathematics, Engineering, biology, physics, hell even libral arts paths). I know that would be a ton of work, and I'm sure it's easily moving outside your wheelhouse, but imagine a "Open Source University"... That could be big

As a struggling CS major graduating soon, thank you so much for this. I've been trying so hard to find some supplemental material and this is pretty much everything Im required to take.
