Excellent exposition. While it is obvious what debt the Founding Fathers had to Locke, Rousseau, Hobbes and even Hume and Voltaire, they all were dead (or nearly so) by the time 1776 rolled around. I hope you might discuss what opinions early 19th century philosophers held as to the "practical" implementation of the social contract in the American Experiment.
