the thing about greatsword is that it's slow and relies on getting monsters vunerable to deal max damage, which can make you a sitting duck against a lot of monsters.

I like perfect guards and offset attacks with the great sword, so satisfying, but I also love landing counters with longsword. All of the weapons except the bowguns are fun to me

Cuz bow deals the best Wound Destruction DMG, I can be support, I can dodge, and I can solo everything. I don't care about being clunky, I like fast paced combat.

Honestly, I know how that feels because in World, I couldn't find what I wanted to run until i got funny numbers and began maining Great Sword, but when I came to Wilds I thought that I should try a new weapon and began maining Switch Axe because it felt fun.

I'm switch axe main and bow and Great Sword second 😂 I just love living on the edge with a weapon that takes more learning monster moveset and your own (meaning you have to watch out because it's a commitment weapon and high risk of getting killed)

Because it's about finding a weapon that fits your playstile, if the question was about dps, everyone would be using either the bowguns or the bow, but capcom made every weapon unique, and worth using balance wise.
