THIS WEEK'S VIDEO LINKS FOR IPAD AND IPOD USERS:

This week, Russell attempts to do what he has never done before... BUILD SOMETHING! But he's not quite as handy as many other Youtube DIY people, so he does this using the simplest possible tools and materials. This time, it's a teleprompter for those who found the task of making Griffin's teleprompter earlier this year too daunting! Also featuring an even easier, cheaper teleprompter that attaches right to the end of your DSLR lens!

Materials/Tools:
Razor or Box Cutter
Packing/Shipping Tape
Duct/Gorilla Tape
Super Glue/Gorilla Glue
Tape Measure
Tripod
8x10in Frame Glass
Magnifier Sheet
Four 3x3 Strong-Tie Angles
12x8in T-Strap
16x12x8in Cardboard Mailing Box

I haven't had much trouble with seeing my teleprompter screen in my glasses. I didn't notice it when editing this and I haven't noticed it before, but that might be because it's a relatively small screen. You could try using a circular polarizing filter on your lens and turning it a bit to kill reflections if it's an issue. I will be doing an episode down the line on simple filters like those, but it's worth looking them up. Just make sure they're the right thread size to fit your lens!

I absolutely love this because it looks exactly like something I would build. Saws? Soldering irons? Dremels? Forget that. Duct tape and cardboard are my friends.

Innovative use of everyday materials. Way to think outside the box on this teleprompter build. Thanks!

Thank you so much! You really should do these regularly!!! I use to watch Indy Mogul but I really could only make the stuff that was level 1 or 2. Even if it's not that professional, you should show us how to make a lot more stuff like this, easy and simple and cheap!

Steady cam -> Tape some bottles filled with water to a stick then tape the camera to the stick
Slider -> Get a drawer slide and screw the camera to one end and the tripod to the other (that can actually work I shall try it some time)
Rig -> Get a gorillapod and bend it to the shape of a rig

Well done you have all these stuff now :)

How do you setup your lights so you don't get reflections off your glasses but STILL have good lighting? I have a really hard time lighting myself because I wear glasses and always end up getting horrible reflections, but yours looks really good.

This is very creative man! I'm the same way when it comes to building.

This is a great idea for show. And that bracket mount method is applicable to other DIY designs like ring lights. Thanks Russ.
I feel special for watching this unlisted by following the Hey Killer facebook link. :3

Can you please show us the different online film festivals? Such as film fights.

Well from a guy that says he can't build stuff that is pretty impressive. I don't think i'll be making a cardboard prompter but the idea is solid. I really like the idea of using a fresnel sheet to magnify the phone, I was wanting to make a prompter but didn't want to invest in a tablet, but I do have a smart phone. Now to attack the garage to salvage for parts!

If you cover a large foam board with aluminum tape, it makes a really, really good reflector.

TOO MANY. Imagine how I felt editing it! I wanted to punch myself in the past for how many times I said it, lol.

Would it be possible to make a fisheye effect with some tape and glue? :D

Please do this on a regular bases, at least every other week or so. You may say it's for the "Not-So-Handy" but your design can be used with other materials and more advanced tools and such. Oh, and aren't you fancy writing upside down at 3:04
