So if i rag on the stain I don’t have to rag it off like you would if brushed on?

So I stripped a tongue and groove hardwood floor because it was so stained up from just whatever and had that black stuff on it from whatever they lay down and so do you have to put a conditioning on that wood floor before you stain it?
Or can you just apply the stain? I’m not planning on putting a top finishing coat over it. I’m just staining the floor itself.

Another question would the stain Soak into any furniture or rub off on any furniture once it’s dried on the floor?

i tried that thinking its better and no wasted material compared to with wipe no matter how i wipe hard there is still a bit of swirl mark...so i ended up still doing the wipe of, but very minimal

Tried the buffer method w carpet pad. Not as easy as s I thought. Started spitting stain along the way. I was wondering if it would be better to apply the stain w a lambskin and then use buffer to even out? Any recommendations?

From begining to end, what would the process be for someone looking to renew and restore old hardwood flooring with deep scrapes. The landlord said hes willing to take it out of the rent if I do it. The floor boards here look just awful and go from glossy in some sections to bare worn out patches. Do I have to sand, stain, and then put the glossy stuff or whats the order of operation?

We had to repair a section of our floor. About 4 boards. Can we simply SPOT FIX it without sanding the entire kitchen?
