Resident Evil 4 Remake has been the talk of the town. I'm a little late to the party, but I'm stoked to dive in, offer some thoughts, and see how Capcom is bringing gaming's "best survival horror" title to new heights.

Hey, y'all. Saw some comments talking about the original "final verdict" title. I've been using that for my impressions of games I couldn't review ahead of embargo lifting since February 2022 with the Cyberpunk 2077 update to pretty much no issue. I'll continue to use it where it makes sense, but I'll make sure to use it in completed games moving forward.

RE4 Remake is anywhere between my favorite to third favorite Resident Evil(depending on how I'm feeling when you ask me).

So I hold no nostalgia for re4.
But I'm on chapter 14 and I can honestly say I highly recommend this game.
In fact if your curious about the resident evil games or survival horror in general I can recommend you play this one first.
It has a nice balance of creepy yet casual.
Gameplay Is really fun, you still gotta be mindful of your inventory/ammo.

I think I enjoy resident evil 2 more, but this game is definitely more welcoming so I think this is the one I recommend you play first if your not already invested in the franchise

I am about 10 hours in and at the end of chapter 4 (yes I know I’m slow) and am doing everything as I go (all treasures, fully exploring ect) and have absolutely already gotten my moneys worth and 2/3 of the game remaining. I never played the original RE4, but am truly enjoying this regardless. I’ve played RE2 remake, Biohazard, and Village and this is already lining up to be my favorite. So unless the game takes a major nose dive it’s going to be truly amazing for me.

My one big issue I’ve only noticed during the shooting ranges mostly is the issue with the unresponsive controls on the Series X. The deadline is massive and there’s no way to alter it and it makes precision aiming really difficult. I hope they fix it as PlayStation isn’t having the same issues. I bought it on Xbox so my friend I’m game sharing with could play if he wanted but am really wishing I bought it for my PS5.

Enjoyed it overall but feel at certain times it was obnoxiously difficult with endless enemies. You can dodge with O SOMETIMES but others there's no option you're just hit. Leon moves smoothly but it's an illusion he's pretty stiff. There should have just been a dodge button to use freely.

Resident evil 5 was my favorite as well. I'm with you on the remake for 5.
