Prince Philip funeral details emerge, Prime Minister Johnson won’t attend

Mourners defied requests by Buckingham Palace not to gather and went on to lay flowers and pay tributes to the late Prince Philip on Saturday at Windsor Castle.

The palace released details of the small funeral, which will be held on April 17 at St. George’s chapel, attended by the Queen and members of the royal family.

Crystal Goomansingh has more on the royal family’s preparation for the funeral, which will be attended by Prince Harry, but not by Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

Prince Philip had all sorts of roles in 99 years. A war veteran, a husband, a father, … but it was the role of being a constant support for her wife Queen Elizabeth II that stands out the most.
