In California you would have to pull over for that. Our lightbars have to have at least one steady red visible to 1000ft in the front to be a legal emergency vehicle.

It’s called “cruise” mode. It’s not new. It’s actually law in CA that there must be one lamp on “red cruise” at all times during “code 3” or “10-18”. I question if that guy was actually a trooper when he said they he wish he had it when he was patrolling. FHP had cruise on their old blue bubble gum machine back in 60s, 70s into the 80s.

Every state is different with its rules and colors…. All 50 need to be on the same page.. flashing or not if i see red and blue im pulling over

It has caused crashes where i live so they do not turn them on anymore.

Outlaw the steady burn. Also outlaw the lightbars mounted on running boards. Keep them up high for VISIBILITY
