I agree with you. once I fixed the code which was taking 30 seconds, I fixed it and ran for about 3-4 seconds. I created pr and the same person was telling me about singular and plural variable naming in pr. I am like bruh this is fucking your code.

I once had a PR held up because my variable descriptions were inconsistent, some sentences ended with a full stop and others did not 😂😂

I quit a previous job because of a couple teammates who wrote terrible code, refused to be elevated by more senior/experienced engineers, and would cuss other people out during stand-up and say things like "I could code circles around you" or "I don't have time for that shit" (in response to being asked to write a single test to fix a bug they introduced due to an unnecessary refactor). Luckily at my new job, we don't have any of that drama, and I get to decide which tools I write in Go. It's a win/win.
