GE9X: First Engine to Test in Peebles, Ohio

More than seven months ahead of a typical program schedule, we fired the first GE9X engine on our testing grounds in Peebles, Ohio to ensure ample time to validate and mature its design before entry into service on the new Boeing 777X aircraft.

22 months is a very good lead-in time for a FETT. To do it in just fifteen is incredible.

AFTER WORLD WAR II ENDED US GOVT SELECTED GREAT INNOVATOR GE TO DEVELOP JET ENGINE USING GERMAN CAPTURED WWII JET ENGINE BROUGHT FROM UK.

This should be illegal. Noise pollution for the entire town of Peebles, disturbs communities and wildlife. I feel so bad for the people who have to hear these terribly loud sounds all hours of the day. I’m just visiting and it’s quite disturbing. They should be required to mage sound proof facilities
