I remember a reversed video of Obama’s “Yes we can” speech and it saying “Thank You Satan” and I was scared of Obama for a while

Rest in Piece Sandy - but man, Obey the walrus seriously fucked me up as a teen. The weird, sped up music sang by kids, the really bad camera quality and her movements - I couldn't sleep for like 3 days because I was so disturbed and scared.

dude the footsteps thing is so legit. i don't know why but i get terrified with, like, repeated thuds/stomps/banging or whatever, when like, i saw "It" part 2 in the cinema and pennywise bangs his head on the glass mirror, or in hereditary when she smashes her head against the cellar, it makes me feel awful. but i love it tho

Bro obey the walrus fucked me up as a kid, but now knowing about the backstory as an adult makes me feel sad about it

Obey the walrus is depressing when you know the backstory

Bruh that Simpsons couch gag video…
I first saw it with a $uicideboy$ song playing over it. One of their more dark and depressing songs too.
Never before was I simultaneously so disturbed, depressed, and impressed at the same time. The fact that they chopped up the baby Maggie was especially horrifying.

Thank God for the elevator music you put in between the clips because watching this at night makes me too scared to go up and pee

Portrait of God and My House Walkthrough are two of the most brilliant and terrifying horror shorts I have seen on YouTube. The latter one genuinely unnerved me.

For the Simpsons video, it’s actually a reference to a horror movie, which is called You’re Next, the masks the criminals wear are similar/exact to the ones the antagonists wear in the movie

i watched the "there is nothing" video for the first (and last) time like 10 years ago at a friends house. we were about 15-16 y/o. it was during a sleepover and we were looking up "real ghosts caught on camera" type of videos as we usually did and ended up just watching whatever came up. every video we came across was goofier than the last and evidently fake and then this one came up and we both froze. I STARTED TEARING UP out of fear and was so embarrassed afterwards lol. it was still hard for me to watch the snippets of it u just played but i endured it.

I think what makes the michael video so unnerving is the fact it hits that primal fear of the uncanny valley so well. Like it’s probably the most organic looking animatronic I have ever seen. And also due to using such a recognizable face, making the feel of familiarity yet not just rightness of the animatronics hit even harder. But then the dancing happens and that unease really just leaves the scene.

My Micheal Jackson one was actually scaring me really badly until it started dancing, then I bursted out laughing 😭

zeark admitting he was scared of micheal jackson was so relatable because i watched the thriller music video as a kid and legitimately couldn't sleep

My personal traumatic experience with YouTube, is the Don't Hug Me I'm Scared video called "HELP" and that green suited.. thing used to actually terrify me and keep me up at nights when i was younger.

I seriously recommend looking into Lee Hardcastle’s other claymations. He’s a legitimate master at the genre and has a few pretty popular works including a short in the ABCs of Death anthology film

No Through Road and Real Demons Caught on Tape are genuinely amazing internet horror videos that still hold up to this day, with No Through Road being one of the first horror internet video webseries to be uploaded to youtube

The media did Michael dirty. I loved him as a kid and was one of my greatest fears as well 😂

The Simpsons couch gag is a perfect example of why there should be more stop motion horror. There’s something off putting and uncanny about play-doh characters getting murdered. The lighting, eye shape and music really helps as well.
