you get a helmet that has a pair of sunglass built in, just flip down and your protected, flip it back when no sun, works with glasses. another great video as well

I currently use a dark smoked visor. But when it's time to replace the helmet I'm going to specifically look for one with the buil-in flip down sun visor. The smoked visor is great during the day but it is a pain at night and probably not very safe. I intended to switch it out with my clear one when I rode at night, but switching got old really fast so I just ride with the smoked visor all the time now. I think the flip down visor will be the best of both worlds.

I prefer the sunnies, blocks the wind blowing directly into my eyes

I have chromatic/transitions lenses in my prescription glasses but that doesn't help while riding. I also have prescription sunglasses too but hate trying to carry two pairs around. What I like is that my new helmet and my old helmet both have internal flip-down sun visors. Love it cause it's so easy to use.

Yeah someone else mentioned them too. They sound good.

I very seldom ride at night, and used to use a dark shield almost exclusively. Since I got my DR650, and began exploring a lot of narrow (sometimes rutted and rocky) forest lanes, I have gone back to a clear visor. Easier to make out the ruts and rocks! I've also got photo-gray lenses in my specs, and a strip of tape about 1 1/2 inches wide across the top of the visor. This setup deals with the sun ok.

Yeah a wise move giving yourself more vision on the trails. My prescription glasses are photochromatic, but with the clipons, they stay clear. The tape sounds a bit too hi tech for me. :)

I live in Southern California and commute to work each day. I bought a tinted iridium visor for my Arai Vector for summer riding which worked / looked great. Switched to a clear visor with sunglasses when the clocks went back due to riding home in the dark and Arai's crappy visor-swop mechanism. Hate riding with sunglasses - distracting and uncomfortable. Have now switched to a new Schuberth lid which kills two birds with one stone and has an integrated sun visor which slides up and down using a lever on the left hand side of the helmet. Brilliant! Schuberth offer (expensive) tinted and iridium visors for their S2, C3 and SR1 helmets but not sure why you would want a tinted visor on a helmet with an internal sun shield...

Use a big magnet. That should bring them to you. :)

Helmet with slide down tinted visor built in behind the regular clear visor - HJC IS16

Sunglasses, if anything. Harder to transport a 2nd visor on a motorcycle if you have limited luggage space.

As Mr. Burns of The Simpson's said, " I would trade everything I have for just a little bit more."

Yep, more people are mentioning them. I might look into them myself.

i feel like it does because when i look left or right, keeping my head still, i see the frame of the lenses

Magnetic clip-on's for my prescription glasses....if I can find them. They are around here somewhere.

it would be nice if they could integrate welding helmet technology into a visor. i think an auto darkening visor would be awesome.

They sound like a good idea. Can the tinted bit be lowered if the main visor is up?

I would have to go with shades ( Or Sunnies ) Tinted visors would be to much hassle. I ride REAL early in the morning 4:30 AM.

I have been wearing regular sunglasses. I had prescription Ray Ban sunglasses a few year and lost those sunglasses in the lake. I disliked wearing contacts. Contacts are too much of a hassle. My vision is worse at night because of astigmatism. I wear prescription eyeglasses at night.

Yea, i like my sunnys, theyre removable, so i can ride at night, and allow me to ride with my visor up without getting so much junk in my eyes, the only thing i like about tinted visors is that they completely hide your face
