Just an FYI for anyone interested, Warp forces you to create an account to collect telemtry data

Forced login for a terminal app? Yeah DOA project. What's next a subscription so I can cd into my home folder?

You should have lead with they require a login. That automatically makes Warp a no go for me.

Warp looks cool but it's currently closed source. At the point in time when it is open source, available for both Linux and Mac, and stops forcing telemetry I will give it a try. In the mean time, Kitty is awesome, works on Linux and Mac, has features up the wazoo, does not force telemetry, and I know it pretty well. Some other terminal is going to have to be pretty darn great to get me to move off Kitty.

I really like the look of the block-based UI. I’d like a VSCode extension to make the embedded terminal behave like that.

Looks amazing, downloaded it straight away, I was excited as a kid in a sweetshop, after install it's forcing me to login, and tells me it shares telemetry data. I can't tell you how much I'm both amazed and disappointed at the same time. I'll keep an eye on the project, but right now it's crossing a line for me, so I'll be giving it a miss for now. Great video though, many thanks.

Wezterm and alacritty are both excellent, modern, fast terminals that don't gather telemetry or require an account.

FYI, you can enable the Starship prompt customisation via the following within Warp:
Cmd + P > Open Settings > Features > Honor user's custom prompt (PS1) setting

As others have said, the forced account and forced telemetry data make this a security nightmare. I'll take another look when this comes out of beta, but it certainly leaves a poor impression. Sometimes companies don't recover from these type of self-inflicted mistakes.

Hyper and Fig are my go to ;-) But I agree that Warp brings new things to the table and it also sits on my Mac.

This is sooo cool! I was so frustrated that I cannot do anything with mouse in the terminal and I didn't have suggested commands. This is my new terminal moving forward!

Suggestion: a `.pathrc` file that just holds the path definition. Makes it much easier to swap terminals for one-offs

Looks pretty cool! Unfortunately vi-mode does not work for me, so it looks like I have to wait for this to be done.
