I have the M1 Air 16 gb version. Its been 2 years and use it as as my main machine, and Im an IT student so I use it daily and multitask a lot. Compared to other devices I used, this is probably the only one that didn't slow down whatever I did for 2 years. M1's are seriously good.

As a person who loves black, super black laptops just don’t look premium. They did right to make it just dark enough to look sexy, but not so black that an onlooker can’t tell what device you’re using at the coffee shop. They want their device to be known.

I recently bought a brand new MBP M1 Max 16” 64GB RAM, 4TB SSD for $2, 999 at B&H. This machine is a beast and it was almost $2k discount from when it first came out.

There are no bad Apple silicon products. The base M1 is a beast, and to this day, would satisfy most people. But if your profession demands it, this seems like a nice upgrade, especially on the GPU side. Maybe the next gen M4 or M5 will bring enough reasons to upgrade for the larger masses.

I went from 2010 macbook pro to this and I am loving everything.
i finally have something that can keep up with my editing.
I agree if you have the 2020 M1, you dont need the upgrade.

Your team is speaking on performance. I know the Mac is not know for gaming, but has anyone realized how poor the screen response time is on the machine? It is my understanding that it may be in the neighborhood of 60ms. I chatted with apple and they tried to tell me it has an 8.33ms response time.

I have a maxed out 16” M1 Max for work.
The M3 has almost twice the amount of CPU performance cores. 8 more GPU cores And up to 128GB of RAM. As well as hardware ray tracing, mesh shading, improved NPU.

To say it there’s nothing new apart from ‘performance’ is almost as stupid as the bongo Hz segment.

Perfect upgrade for me as I was rocking a 2017 iMac that was definitely slowing down big time as well as a 2018 iPad Pro which now I’m out of college no need for this mobile huge tablet on the go.

The M3 Pro may be slight overkill for me but I have a fantastic machine for the next 8 years

I agree 1000%. Just because Apple decided to upgrade their chips every year, doesn't mean the earlier chips become obsolete. I got the MBP 16 with M2 Max all maxed out and I am planning to keep it for over 6-7 years or more. Apple needs to understand that $5K last year is still worth $5K right now, but their earlier chips/computer are not and not everyone can afford to spend that type of money every year.
