I work as a doctor at a prison so yes this is so true. People do change for the better. Not all but many do.

"If any man loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.." What "The 48 Laws of Power" does, is give us an understanding of the kinds of machinations that we WILL encounter in the world. Christians (as much, and, most often more than anyone) need to understand how this world ACTUALLY functions. Forewarned is forearmed. Set aside for a moment, what should be, to comprehend what IS. There's not one single person on this planet who is not in need of forgiveness. Yes, there are people who are simply dangerous, all the more reason we need to understand how they "roll". Thanks for the brilliant book, Robert.

Hi Robert Greene, I have had terrible circumstances. I'm from South Africa, Johannesburg Soweto that's where i was raised. You are not Evil, I listen to your audio books almost everyday and they have changed my life and continue to change my life each day. These are really powerful self help books.

I read this book in 2004 in county jail at the age of 18. It got me through doing 8 yrs in the California prison system, dealing with the most cunning and pathological people u can imagine. ✊🏼

Edit:but yes it was banned in prison, mostly because the guards were scared of this type of education and tried to limit it to us. An educated mind is a dangerous mind😏

So true. It’s only so kind that the righteous can be. If you’ve never stepped out of bounds (or haven’t been caught most likely) it’s easy to judge! Thank you Robert 🙏

Education is probably the best way back to normal life for those caught up in adverse circumstances

I had a family member that was doing time in federal prison for a couple of years and he said the bailiffs told him the reason why that book The 40 laws of power and the number one reason they said they don't allow the book in the jails is because it made the inmates intelligently smart to know how to analyze and verbally and psychologically speak and have a lot of knowledge that the streets didn't give them and they kind of just want to keep them dumbed down! So basically Robert Green's book is so good that they feared the people in prison would actually learn professional intelligence from it I said what I said and I know what I know because they return the book to me with this explanation when I sent it to him 🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯🤷🏼‍♀️

Documentaries about jail thought me something important: empathy, compassion, to open my heart and feel. A lot of people had like you said circumstances that gosh... (and not to say life for those not in jail is easier) Life is challenging enough...

Great short. Highlights the large number of corruptive and implicit ideas we are immersed in every day.

Growing up in difficult circumstances obscures the truth that the universe is benevolent and she is supporting us. If we look at animals in the wild, apex predators only kill/steal/rob out of necessity. Many times humans dont know that there is a better way, but can be receptive to a better way when shown... The ones who see the better way and still choose to cause harm are actually evil and we can judge them as so, that is true antisocial behavior. Theres a difference between perceived capability and willingness to grow. If you believe you can do better, you can! Adversity demands toughness, which is an admirable quality, and this can work in our favor if applied in the correct ways.

The reason why I initially perceived the book as "evil" was because I was listening to its audiobook version. Every audio reads it like a Disney villain, exxagerating what they believe readers are seeking. Which I wasn't. I am only interested in the aspects of human nature and not to utilize it as some guidebook. But listening to Robert himself via various interviews, what he shares is quite practical, grounded and insightful. So guess I will return and give it another chance.

Amen! I worked as a correctional officer for a specific reason; to remind the offenders and others that we are ALL human beings!
Condemnation won't rehabilitate, it will justify their rationale
