One of the most powerful aspects of the CAGED system is the way that chords are associated with pentatonics and scales.

This week I talk about how using chords can help you to break the "Tyranny of the Root Note"! :o)

Steve, your articulation of the mental process one goes through, including the specific associated mental challenges of orienting to one's location, and how CAGED provides points of reference, is brilliantly done and invaluable to me. Thank you so much!

Thanks this sort of thing is very helpful. It starts to make things clearer which is what I need from a teacher.

This is great. Many thanks. I have now just worked out how the 7 major patterns and 5 minor pentatonic patterns sit in relation to the CAGED system. 👍😎✌

This channel is very quickly becoming my favorite guitar channel! Have you considered releasing videos more frequently? The quality of your content will certainly bring more viewers. Thanks for all of your help!

Thank you Steve, this is one of the most important fretboard visualization technique. I've been practicing this for a few weeks now along with recalling the root, third, and fifth of the chords in each of these shapes and it has greatly improved my knowledge of the fretboard. It would interesting to hear your point of view on visualization of these and, in general, other stuff away from the guitar.
