Faster Hands & Feet (in 10 days)

This is a video I've been wanting to release for a long time. When I first started, I really didn't know the value of LISTENING. In my opinion, it's the most important thing that you can do as a drummer and musician.

Treat your ears like you would treat any muscle in your body that you want to improve and do exercises to help you become a better listener! Happy drumming!

Just like Tre Cool says, "Play the music, not the instrument"

Excellent message. I always ask myself this question when writing drum parts "What is supposed to be played here?" Playing FOR a song rather than playing "to show my chops" is always the better bet.

I've been staying behind the drums from ten years and always praticed the "ear" way that you explain in this video, and I'm glad to hear this from someone who's more experienced than me. Thank you

Yup, totally agree, main point of drumming is creating, not showing yourself! Keep it goin!

I really like the new lighting/colour correction in the video! Kudos to whoever did that. :)

This indeed the good thing about learning to play another instrument than just drums. I have been playing classic french horn and piano on a high level and I think drums is not just about hitting plastic, but being a musician when you sit behind the kit.

Jared Falk doesn't always give online drum lessons... but when he does, he drinks dos equis.

Cool video man. I've had the privilege of taking lessons with Larnell at Humber college for my fourth year and he's been an amazing influence on me and my playing and it all comes down to listening.

This is definitely the most beautiful sounding kit you've had on Drumeo in my opinion.  Stick with the Yammies!

Thanks for this Jared. Very important message & one you tend to forget while going through the motions of practicing your instrument.

Jared - Great, informative and educational videos. Been playing over the course of many years - but actually am an anathema - I'm a shy drummer!! And still with MUCh to learn. Anyway, to your point about listening, it is very well said. Since the 1970's until today, one of the hardest working drummers in the world is Steve Gadd. Why? He is first and foremost a musician who listen to others and responds to them.
Take care and please keep sharing!

Paul
