It's mbuna for me. I love them. Especially yellow labs and demasoni. They have lots of fry and they are amazing.

I have kept a pretty decent variety of cichlids in general. Mbuna will always be my favorites. I downgraded from 35 or so tanks to just 1 main system with a 110 and 40B in wall setup. I run a 40B sump on it. It was recently converted from Reef to Mbuna. I don’t regret it.

Love the color, variety, activity, and personality of my Mbuna tanks. Never a dull moment...

"Recognizing their owner" is so true. When I enter the fish room they all rush to the glass and follow me around. When someone else goes down there the fish lose their minds trying to hide. I love the interaction. I separated out Mbuna from Peas and Haps a while back. My Mbuna got real nasty when they put on size. So I went with only Peas/Haps. Maybe it would have worked in a bigger tank. I only had a 60 gallon at that time. They're both beautiful.

Thanks! Great video! I gravitate towards nano tanks but if I ever found room for a bigger tank, I’d like to try these. Love the all the colors! Happy Monday!

New to the cichlid family here and, @1:30 that may be the most beautiful cichlid tank I’ve ever seen 🤩

If I were to go Lake Malawi cichlids I would probably go Mbuna. They look cooler to me and I like the way they interact with the hardscape. I love fish, but I need to have a scape too to keep my interest in a tank. I’d also like to keep shelldwellers at some point, but those are Lake Tanganyika. Great video guys. Thank you!

I learned the hard way on my first hap and peacock tank early last year, unfortuantely I could only afford a dozen fish and gradually they killed each other.
I think if I was to do Malawi cichlids again, I would definitely try mbuna 👍

Thank you for the information. Very helpful because I do have African cichlids. This will help me to do better with African cichlids.

Great video! Loved it.

I'm happy with my mbuna tank right now. Most of the fish are under 2" so a lot of growing to do, but so far I couldn't be happier with them.

Great video! Love the tank with the rusty cichlids (hope to get some in the future). I’ve kept both and lean towards mbuna over peacocks.
