Google Docs: Linking Within a Document

You may already know that links can point to webpages, but in Google Docs they can also point to any part of the document itself. This can be a great way to add navigation that you or your collaborators can use.

If you already have headings in your document, you can link to them. If not (or if you want to link to something other than a heading), you can create a bookmark. With a bookmark, you can link to any part of a paragraph, an image, or any other part of the doc.

When you create a bookmark, you'll also be able to share a link to that specific bookmark. As long as someone has access to the document, they'll be able to jump right to that bookmark.
The links will also continue to work if you download your doc as a Word document or PDF file!

Thanks for this. Only thing is, unless I missed it, seems the header option when clicking "link" is no longer there. So I used the bookmark approach instead. Thanks!

This is such an awesome feature. My only complaint it that it takes the reader two clicks to jump to the bookmark. I'd like to be able to do it in one, like most hypertext. But that's minor.
