That's a perfectly safe 'call out' of the boss's underlying behavior. You want to make your boss reach for a different schema next time they attempt to do something tricky. The more you do this call out in a delicate but effective way, your boss will start to follow the professional rules they get paid to oversee.

I just wonder .... how am I going to get them to listen to more then 4 words ? Nowadays the standard interruption after I say one sentence is "I really have to go now". They only have time to monologue, not to dialogue.

So let me get this straight Trixie, you thought that while we are both here volunteering our time at Church & I am working with children, you thought it would be a good time to attempt to label me an incompetent parent & humiliate myself and my child? Is that what I’m hearing? As you know I have one child graduating with honors this year & another child graduating next year & your seriously going to diminish me as a mother of three & longstanding volunteer with children, at the church?
