I use different method. Mine is I extend my wall to the second floor

Make a wall with double height, at that particular point you want the window

Second one is better, and more professional in a way. Anyway, I usually have a wall spanning double storey then it's easier for the window to span between the two levels

I think for the corrct way of BIM it s better to make one overhigh window, and overlap with a empty space.

Man so many bad advice on Archicad, it's shocking. Most of these methods have nothing to do with real life construction, and Archicad should be used exactly or almost exactly how you might actually build the damn thing.
