Doing things quickly is an illusion. It has years of experience, expertise and learning behind it.

I can’t build a fighter jet on my own right now. But if I’d been in a career path where I learned those skills and worked for an aeronautics company, yeah I could be part of a team that designs and delivers a jet in half a year. But the path leading up to it would take forever. And to make one plane quickly I need to make several planes slowly first

Okay you are probably a young fresh graduate and you really need to understand this.

Brendan Eich wrote JavaScript in 10 days, but that was only possible because he had a decade of experience writing system software and DSP software which is orders of magnitude than creating JavaScript was.

Same thing with Git, Linus had 10+ years of experience working on Linux kernel and an intuition of how version control systems worked.

Context is important.

The environment in which we release things is very important context. These projects have had *decades* to fully mature and were created back when security wasn't that much of a concern. If you release something now, you better make damn sure it's at least watertight or the project is dead in the water because why would anyone contribute to a project that has so many fundamental problems.
