In case of a tooth facture, which usually occurs in a younger adult, because of contact sports or because of trauma, the teeth can be replaced immediately with a dental implant. The patients age also matters because if it is a younger patient and the jaw bone grows and there is growth spurts occurring. So usually we wait until 18 years of age to place a dental implant into the jaw bone because once the dental implant is placed into the jawbone, it integrates and becomes a part of the bone. So we have to plan the growth of the bone while we are placing the dental implant into the jawbone. So if it is a single missing tooth in the front and there is a fractured tooth that needs to be replaced with a dental implant, then we consider the patients age. Atleast till 18 years to continue for a permanent replacement with a dental implant. Till such time a temporary replacement can be given by a removable denture or by a fixed denture can be given to the patient till the patient comes to an age of an eligible implant.
