Basic personal hygiene, a bit of muscle, and decent fitting clothes can go a long way. Also, patience and the ability to give time and space to a woman is essential. Using that time to work out, have adventures on your own, and learn something new makes you more interesting than texting her or calling her all the time. Remember this extract from the book, it's the one I remember the most, I remember when I would like a girl I would hang around just like Peter and not say anything then to nervously try to start up a conversation which led to no results. After reading the book I just said "Fuck it" I would approach women like I was the president even though inside didn't feel the same, even to women that I didn't like just to get practice. Results followed and a confident first impression confuses a woman and makes her more receptive.

Also, this happened to me at my previous job--and not just once, but twice! There were two women on the lower floor who I just had to meet. The older one was so cute and sexy and feminine that it drove me crazy (and I LOVED it!). I tried to meet her a couple of times, but I turned to mush and aborted my mission. Then I finally decided to do it. I was sooo nervous, but by golly, she was really sweet and she genuinely liked me. We even chatted for more than an hour after work one evening. Sadly, she was married. I'm a gentleman, and gentlemen are absolutely forbidden from tempting married women. So we just remained friendly coworkers. The other woman was extremely tall and slim, like a female volleyball player. I know that she noticed me staring at her again and again. Luckily, we finally met. She, too, liked me a lot. However, she also was married, and was way too young. Alas!

1. You can be fat, short, etc. As long as you do chase a healthier lifestyle, dress decent, have good hygiene, it's fine. Stop shaming people or yourself for beeing what they/you are today! It's right, you still achieve more with better appereance, but see it as a bonus.
2. The main key is confidence, and only confidence. You need to achieve this, because even a perfect body won't do much if you are not confident about yourself.
3. Stop chasing a dreaming about a specific girl. You see one, just approach her friendly and natural with eye contact. "The coffee smells good, what you've got?" Just to break the ice. You pick your coffee, go to her, if she is alone, comments again about the coffee and have some conversation. And after that, if it sparks, it sparks. If not, well, you did what you did!

Excellent points. Peter might be an Alpha in the business world, but not in the dating world. It is better to be a Chad than an Alpha in the dating world. Paul was a Chad. He might not have been as rich and successful in business as Peter, but Paul knew what women want. Peter could easily become a Chad if he read Atomic Attraction.
