Three types of VPN

A VPN uses a technology called tunneling, a virtual point-to-point connection. Tunneling creates a secure encrypted connection where traffic remains private as it travels. VPN comes in many different shapes in terms of technologies and services. Today I will talk about three basic types of VPN: site-to-site VPN, client-to-site VPN, and commercial VPN for personal use.

Playlists:

Privacy Enhanced Technologies
Business continuity
Cyber Attacks and Defense
Basic Cryptography
Advanced Cryptography:
Public Key Infrastructure

Remote Access & WAN Technologies

@sunny- great videos. can you pls cover the basics of software and the relevant terms used? also, can you pls discuss what engineers mean when they use the term “environment”— e.g. cloud instance, sandbox, etc.?

thanks sunny. i have a question - if the VPN server has my IP address, then US government could go to the VPN server and DEMAND that the data be handed over to the government, just like they do with ISPs. Am I missing something here?

Is vpn protocol and ip-ip protocol the same thing?

But! With many VPNs you still use regular DNS .. so, the outside world can still see what you are looking or reaching for. Something to consider. And most people I know don’t know how to handle all the cookie crumbles the spread around them .. telling exactly what the outside world wants to know .. 😂
