I am the second of five children. We all grew up in Minnesota. Our dad fought for freedom and Democracy in WW II before we were even born. His plane was shot down over Tokyo during a night raid and he spent the last three months of the war in a Japanese prison camp. The bomb was dropped, the war ended, and dad made it home. After the war, documents were found where he and all of the captured bomber crews had been slated for execution. We lost dad at 77 years but not before he and mom had raised all of us as responsible citizens of this country. Years later, sometime before our mother died, my sister asked her why she and our dad had left the Republican Party. Our mom said, “We didn’t. The Republican Party left us.” Please, think about that. Look at what’s happening and just think about that.

Walz is honestly the best spokesperson that Kamala could have asked for, because the agenda that he pushed forward in the state of Minnesota was essentially the agenda and Biden and Harris wanted to get passed back with Build Back Better. Now, we have a second chance to make this happen, and what better way to campaign on these policies than with a man who already showed how to get them done?
