How to Fix an Underwire Bra in Seconds

Another fix is putting a bead of hot glue on the end of the underwire that's popping out. Let it cool, then squeeze a little dab of hot glue Into the hole and quickly put the underwire back in. Use any little excess coming out to fuse the tear and close it. I suggest using the tip of the glue gun to push the seams together. The hot glue seeps into and attaches even the TINIEST of threads that forms an un breakable bond

I love that you're advocating for fixing bras! Unfortunately, I've tried this at least 6 times and the fix never lasts. The only way I would recommend this method is by supplementing the moleskin with hand-stitching to fully secure it to the bra. Even then, the patch will eventually fail. But again, I LOVE that you're sharing your solutions for temporarily fixing bras! Those of us who need bras need to join forces to keep our garments last as long as possible, especially with how expensive the high-end ones cost!

This is a good idea. I’ve just fixed one of my daughters bras. I cut off 2cm of the wire with pliers, sanded it smooth then put a tiny amount of gel glue on it and pushed it back in. I then went over the piping just above the hole with the sewing machine several times to form a good tight fixing.

Sadly, this didn't work for me. Some of them came off with my sweat after an hour. Others, the wire just poked right past it as if it wasn't there. But then I have very large breasts and my bras do more work than many people do. (They are fitted by a professional)

This is one of the reasons that I quit wearing underwire bras a long time ago. I may give them a try again. I think I will put the mole skin on before it breaks through. Maybe then, it never will. Thank you soo very much for this great tip.

Tried it . Absolutely did not work. The wire broke right through the foam . And fell right the first wash. I also put a longer piece on and tried making it wider. It lasted a few hours.

Sewing isn’t one of my skills but I have a lot of clothing with tears that I’ve kept forever just waiting to fix. This works on other clothes as well!! I used it on my favorite glitter lace top I wasn’t able to wear for years. Put the two sides of the tear together and stuck it from the inside. I put a cute bow over the part that the moleskin was visible. It’s not perfect but better than waiting another couple years until I decide to learn to sew 😂 it’s also super quick, only $1.79 for 3 big sheets.
Not worried about it going through the wash as it’s hand wash only and that’s why it ripped to begin with lol

I would suggest cutting off the corners to make it a circle; corners tend to lift.

Amazing! Just doing this alteration and happened to have some Dr. Sholl’s moleskin. Not foam, but I’m sure after cutting down the wire just a little bit and rounding it off, the moleskin will do the trick! Thanks so much!!
