IPhone 13 Mini with A18 is such a missed opportunity for the SE4. Oh the pocketable simplicity a one camera Mini could have offered..

I think Apple needs to bring 120 hz to the regular 16 so the SE doesnt take sales away. The 16 needs as many new features as possible to differentiate it. The Pros getting 5x zoom and bigger screens is enough to justify that upgrade.

this would’ve been the perfect opportunity to bring back the 5.8 inch size screen from the iPhone X and 11 Pro. In my opinion it that’s the perfect size and the right middle ground in between the mini size and the 6.1 inch size

I wish they made the SE4 just as rumored but with a smaller screen (12/13 mini size) Could help reduce cost as well as differentiate from the regular phones

I would rather own a fourth-generation iPhone SE because I do not care about Apple Intelligence, the Dynamic Island, nor the ultra wide lens.

SE2 User here. Love it. Would upgrade to SE3 or 12 Mini after software support is dropped. Love smaller iphones and going to use them (SE2/SE3/12Mini/13Mini) until they all lose iOS support & updates. 

USB-C: Not a dealbreaker. 
Ultrawide: Not a dealbreaker but would like. 
OLED: Not a dealbreaker.

I really don’t think the objective of the SE was a smaller phone. It’s simply cheaper to manufacture because the logistics and manufacturing lines already existed for years when you use an old frame. Placing the latest chip in it makes the current chip cheaper across the board as it increases volumes.

It's crazy how everyone says Apple should use the mini. I mean I would love that but the whole point of the SES series is to take advantage of the manufacturing efficiencies of the existing chassis. They would have to order not only assembly line to start manufacturing the old mini chassis again but they would also have to order displays. Because there are different size than all their other phones they would not get the economies of scale. So sure as much as we want the mini to return it would only make sense on the SE series if it was still on the market and selling well.

I guess I'll rock my SE 2022 as long as I can and then I'll have to do the frankphone route, get a 14 or 15 and have a repair shop put an LCD screen in it. Hopefully I won't have any issues doing that, but for those of us who suffer with PWM issues, Apple isn't leaving us a choice.

My personal theory is that the 14 will be discontinued when the 2025 SE comes out.

Considering how similar it and the 14 seem to be (it literally sounds like it is going to be a 14 with no ultrawide camera, the A18 chip, and a USB-C port), plus the fact Apple may want to create a larger price gap between the SE and everything else since this new design will almost definitely carry a larger price tag, it makes sense.

I also could see them doing this to purge the lineup of Lightning once and for all, since the 14 would stand out like a sore thumb in that regard.

I was still kinda hoping for an iPhone SE in the form factor of the iPhone Mini. Seems like that ship has sailed and is never coming back.

The sad part is it would be easier and probably cheaper for Apple to take a Iphone 13, slap an A18 in there and call it a day than Engineering an entire new phone, JUST to keep the Status quo of the SE only having 1 Camera.

Phones half that price have 3 Cameras, even if the third is just a Macro.

And the 60 Herz thing… its just a thing you should‘nt do out of Principle … all the phones in the same pricerange from Samsung and Google have 120 Herz, and Cheaper phones have 90. we live in 2024.

iphone se 4 seems solid as to use a budget phone to pair with other Apple products like Mac, Ipad without needing to have much Apple Tax from standard iphones. Especially in countries where currency conversion is big.
