Rye bread, thin sliced Swiss cheese, and sauerkraut with piled high corned beef!

Rinse the corned beef before cooking it. Too much salt if you don't. 😁 happy cooking

I eat corned year round. Using the crockpot is the easiest way to cook it in my opinion.

Made this for the weekend, added carrots, garlic, salsa, beer, and then cabbage towards the end. No complaints, came out great.

Next time try it with chicken broth or chicken stock. Also throw in an extra bay leaf or 2 and a crushed garlic clove.
Also what i love to do is when its done i love to pull mine out coat it with mustard and put brown sugar on it. Wrap it in foil but it in the oven for a short time just to light melt the brown sugar then unwrap it and put the oven on low broil.
To crisp up the sugar a little bit.
You do have to watch it because the sugar will burn easily.

So here’s the thing the tea strainer will get clogged up with that from the corn beef, but it makes the corned beef better cause you’re not crunching on bits of seasoning like peppercorns that will definitely get in between the fibers of the meat. What I recommend is just using one tea strainer, and setting that aside for corned beef every year or buy a cheap one and set that aside. Only use it for corned beef. You can’t use it for tea again after but you also really needed it.

Going to cook one thi weekend. In crockpot. Do I cover the whole beef with water ? When do I put the carrots, potatoes and cabbage in ?

Got to put the seasoning in the water. Can simmer on the stove also after bringing it to a boil. Better off with more water for add ins.

Does anyone rinse, dry and cover with salt then wrap and let sit in fridge overnight, thats what I've been doing with chuck roast for slow cooking?

I find It’s actually better by not adding the water and cooking for 6 hours is good enough for average size brisket.
